Narrative

Ann was 18 when she married George Read of Long Riston. They married in Harpham but they moved to Long Riston where they had 4 children. Ann's husband was a Shoe Maker who died aged 37. Ann remarried 4 years later, in Long Riston. Her second husband was Dennis Coulston also a Shoe Maker, who was 7 years older than Ann.
Ann had 4 children from her first marriage:
- George married Jane Milner in December 1829 in Brandesburton. In 1851 he's working as a wheelwright employing one man and an apprentice (his son). George was buried in Brandesburton in March 1852.
- Dorothy married George Scoffins in October 1825 in Long Riston. She was buried there in January 1850 aged 50 but was living in Hull where her death was registered.
- William didn't marry. He was buried in Long Riston in 1835 aged 29.
- Ann was single, aged 30, in the 1841 census living with her mother and second husband. Ann may have married after this as there is no burial in Long Riston.
Ann had at least one child with her second husband. In 1851 Ann is a widower, aged 67 with unmarried daughter Martha Coulson aged 35.
Ann was buried in November 1866 in Long Riston aged 83.
