Narrative

Dorothy married 6 months after her father died. Her sister Mary married 18 months before this. Their father John was a witness at Mary's marriage. The second witness was Thomas West, who was the first witness to Dorothy's marriage.
Dorothy and her husband had 7 children but only 4 of them lived beyond 20. Marriages have been found for 3 of them. Sons William and Richard were both carpet weavers, and their marriages were both in nearby Nafferton. Youngest daughter Ann married in Harpham, where she was living with her father, then moved to Long Riston where her husband was from.
Dorothy was in her fifties when she died, which was before any of her children were married.
