Narrative

CHILDREN
Isaac and Martha had twelve children, born 1739 to 1758. The first seven were baptised in St Peter's with the surname Mocket, the last five were baptised in Knowlton with the surname Mockett. Isaac was probably literate but he would not have seen the registers, and the vicar was probably using a spelling of his choosing. #### were ALL other baptisms at St Peter spelled Mocket, or was a different family spelled Mockett? ############### Did they move house, or was it just a new venue for the baptisms? Why would they do this? ##############

INHERITANCE
In 1753 Isaac inherited Dumptons farm house and 50 acres of land from his father, which he stil had an interest in when he wrote his own will in 1781.

WILL
Isaac wrote his will when his children were aged 40 to 23. His will only names eight of his twelve children. Son Sampson died when he was 19. Had the other three died, or got married?
Sons Elijah and Edward are joint executors.
Elijah proves the will on 6th February 1789.
Elijah was buried on 21st July 1789.
Edward proves the will on 24th July 1789, presumably to take carry on the execution of the will after his brother's death?

DEATH
Buried as Isaac Senior. He had a son called Isaac, but he is not mentioned in Isaac's will. Perhaps he'd died?
