Kenyon, Thomas

Birth Name Kenyon, Thomas 1a 2a 3a
Gender male
Age at Death less than about 54 years

Narrative

Thomas is staying as a boarder with his future wife and family one week before his marriage. Also staying with them, but as a visitor, is Elizabeth Kenyon who is 29 years older than Thomas so highly likely to be his mother. She is a widow, so her husband Thomas who is named on the marriage certificate is no longer alive.
Thomas and his family moved out of Manchester around 1880, which would have been good for the family but Thomas is still working in a dye works.
Daughter Lucy was born after they moved to Whittle-le-Woods but she was baptised in St Philips, the same church as all her older siblings. Quite an unusual thing to do.
When they are in Surrey his occupation is "Artisan". Was he regarded as a tradesman rather than a labourer?
Thomas isn't with his family in 1891 census. He dies young - like his father - probably as a result of their occupations as dyers.
